Early Thursday morning, companies 16, 14, and 15 were alerted for a residential structure on North Frederick Pike in 16's area. Responding units from Gainesboro had visible fire from the station. A short time later , companies 19 and 20 were dispatched to assist. Engine 19 responded with the Chief and 3. Upon arrival, the engine was instructed to abandon the piece and report to command. Chief Jackson (Co. 16) assigned the crew from The Mountain to the interior to pull walls, ceilings, and complete extinguishment.  Chief 19 relieved D/C 16 as the interior supervisor. 19's crew entered the home with the crew from RE 20 and encountered heavy smoke conditions and fire remaining in the walls and ceilings of several rooms. After several hours of overhaul and extinguishing hidden fires, crews from 19 and 16 cleared the scene at approx. 0830.  The crew on Engine 16 did an outstanding job in stopping this fire.  This will be one to remember for a long time.
